Grok and Roll is Kief Morris' technical blog. The focus of the blog will, going forward, tend to revolve around what these days is buzzily called "devops".
I intend a series of posts stabbing at what devops means to me, but common themes in my own thinking include Continuous Delivery of software, and Platform as a Service (PaaS) Clouds.
I see two pillars of Continuous software delivery, one being the Delivery Pipeline as the central techical mechanism for rapidly delivering high quality software, and the other being Agile and Lean software development processes as the approach best used by teams (development and operations both) to achieve this.
My thinking is that the devops trend will inevitably grow into the widespread adoption of PaaS Clouds (more buzzwords!) as the best way to develop, deliver, and run most software applications.
So expect to see sporadic posts on these topics, along with whatever else comes to mind.
